252/365 Filthy Shades of Gross on Flickr.Via Flickr: Out of sheer curiosity, and because I couldn’t listen to the radio or go on the internet without hearing about it at least once a day, I read an excerpt from the new “hit” book Fifty Shades of Grey. I read about a page or two before I rolled my eyes so hard I pulled an optical muscle, and then I wanted to gauge my eyes out. It was so painful… and I think what made the experience ten times worse was that the series started out as a Twilight fan fiction. And Twilight was so badly written, I couldn’t get past chapter 5 of the first book without chucking it clear across the room. Where are all the editors/proofreaders?! The series has been labeled as “Mommy porn.” I hope that when I’m a mom, I won’t ever have to resort to reading something so repulsive. I’m just not a fan of romance novels… I’m more of a fantasy and sci-fi gal. (yes, I realized I’ve had two consecutive posts where I’ve complained about something… I promise I’ll be more pleasant)

257/365 OCD on Flickr.Via Flickr: I bought a bunch of folders and a new stack of dividers for the awesome wedding binder, and spent a good couple of hours organizing all the papers and business cards we’ve accrued last week. The wedding binder’s getting pretty chunky now. Sarah would be proud :)

258/365 Stationery! on Flickr.Via Flickr: This past weekend, I went on a stationery rampage and ordered samples from any and every stationery site that offered samples. Today, the first couple of them started pouring in. I figured out how I want to do the fold, but I still don’t know whether I trust myself to make 80-some invitations, or whether I trust someone else to execute my designs. Either way, for now it’s still fun to look at and hold pretty pieces of paper that could potentially be our wedding invitations! I also went to a jazz class at Richmond Ballet with Sheena. This is only my second time taking a class there, but I think it’s pretty safe to say that their classes kick my butt! And I love it!

259/365 With This Ring… on Flickr.Via Flickr: Today, a door took off a large chunk of skin from my toe. I ran home, splashing in my own blood and stood at the sink, one leg propped under the running faucet, as I tried not to hyperventilate long enough to text Ryan to let him know I was dying. In sickness and in health, ‘til death do us part, right? 107 days to go, and we have our wedding rings! (I think my toe is fine now… although I have no idea what I’m going to do with the chunk of skin hanging off my toe. I haven’t seen it since I wrapped it with gauze and 3 band-aids, and I’m actually terrified of seeing what’s underneath tomorrow morning when I shower.)

261/365 Prepping the Move on Flickr.Via Flickr: Getting ready to move outta this hell hole! Ryan likes to watch a lot of the house hunter shows on HGTV (House Hunters, Property Virgins, Income Property, etc). Oftentimes there are engaged couples who are planning their wedding AND looking for houses at the same time, and we think they’re crazy. Just going through the wedding planning process itself is pretty stressful. We can’t imagine trying to look for a house too! Moving three months before our wedding is pretty crazy too, but at least we’re not making another large investment. It’ll totally be worth it too because we hate our apartment now. But once we move, the wedding planning—nay, prepping—will be like spitfire! Let’s git r’ dun!

262/365 QiPao part 3/Yes to the Dress part 2 on Flickr.Via Flickr: And on day 262, I said yes to the dress a second time. Whoda thunk getting my qipao would be more of a process than getting my wedding dress?! Oh well, the qipao is in my hands now and it so PRETTY!!! I’m so excited… and I got some killer shoes to match! Now I still have to find shoes to go with my wedding dress haha

316/365 Herb Bouquet on Flickr.Via Flickr: One of my co-workers has a garden in which he grows EVERYTHING. And every once in a while he’ll bring in a sprig of this and a bushel of that. Today, he was gracious enough to bring in bunches of parsley, rosemary and lemon basil for me and another co-worker (who usually partakes in trades of fresh produce with him every week). I stuck a few leaves of parsley in my cous cous for dinner (and ate a few leaves right off the stalk), but right now, the herbs are so pretty just sitting in a vase on my kitchen counter! I’ve been yammering to grow an herb garden for years. Now that we have the space, I think I should start. What grows well in the Fall/Winter?
