Now Mrs. Paulette, but still collecting off-beat bridal stuff, and creepishly reporting on friends' engagements and marriages!

Finally woke up early enough in the morning to attend a ballet class at Richmond Ballet. It kicked my butt, and my calves are now burning, but it was so refreshing. Best part of it was that the teacher, who I had taken classes with at VCU, remembered me!
(ok, I’m slightly addicted to my new iPhone and Instagram)
228/365 Centre Stage on Flickr.
In between shows, I ran on stage and snapped a picture of the auditorium. The view from the stage is just as breathtaking as from the seats.
What a gorgeous venue, beautiful dancers, and fantastic production. I was so glad I got to be a part of it! Jenn’s class did an amazing job, and was near-flawless in the second show. So proud of them! They have improved soooo much since I first subbed for them back in November.
Can’t wait to start up a new dance season in the Fall!

The only vase I had was too small to fit the flowers from yesterday’s show (I think it was only meant for one or two stems), but I got creative.
231/365 No Ugly Dresses Here! on Flickr.
Wedding planning is stressful… and to add on to that, you also want your bridesmaids to look good and be happy. You don’t want to be that notorious Bridezilla who puts her bridesmaids in frilly clown costumes all because you want to be the prettiest-looking girl that day. If you’re in that bridal shop chuckling in delight as your bridesmaids are scowling and pulling at the puffy sleeves on her arms, then I’m already judging you. Hard. Besides, as it is YOUR wedding day, people will be paying attention to the bride anyway. Giving your bridesmaids an outlandishly ugly dress may just attract more attention to them, and away from you!
Aha. Food for thought.
Now, since my bridesmaids are from all breadths of the world, I have decided to send them off on their own to find a dress that fits her body type and one that in her own budget. Heck, Serena is making her dress, which I’m absolutely stoked about seeing! She made her prom dress back in high school and it was gorgeous (it also garnered a whole slew of Victorian Whore jokes that still follow her to this day).
These ladies are all my closest friends from high school and college, and I want them to look just as nice on my wedding day. Besides, an ugly bridesmaid dress would completely ruin the aesthetics of the overall wedding! Duh! Come on, Bridezillas, how have you not thought of that?!
(My boss gave me those pack of bridesmaid cards. She saw them and thought of me. How sweet)

I feel like I got a lot accomplished this weekend with my mother. One big thing we tackled was finding a florist… or at least someone who can do something with flowers. It’s going to be a wonderful surprise :)
It took a lot off my shoulders (which is good since Ryan and I spent a sleepless night a while ago because we had so much on our minds), but it also made me realize just how real this all is. I can’t believe I’m getting married in 131 days! We waited nearly two years, and now October is hurdling straight towards us! This is crazy!
237/365 Arrest on Flickr.
Ryan made a fairly big arrest yesterday. I’m only posting about it today because it was supposed to be hush-hush… but now that the press has gotten to the story, it’s pretty much safe to talk about what happened. Plus, nothing really exciting happened today.
Ryan almost got the snot beat out of him, but he and several other officers managed to get this guy in handcuffs and take him to jail. This guy took a $200-some cab ride to the airport, only to reveal that he couldn’t pay for it. Then he got violent, threw a trash can at the cab driver, and threatened him before the police arrived and got involved in the brawl.
But hey, at least it wasn’t the zombie from Miami.
Better sharpen up my swords…

Richmond has two historically accurate caravel ships docked in the river. What does your city have?

Working on some engagement photo magic, while drawing inspiration from the boy wizard himself!
Our engagement photos will be up soon!
(no, that’s not your eyes… my computer is really bent up that way)
245/365 Spike on Flickr.
Look at my site analytics! And look at that huge spike on the day I posted our Lost+Harry Potter engagement photos!
I also talked to two wedding blogs that want to feature our photos :) Pretty cool!
249/365 Maker’s Day on Flickr.
Happy Maker’s Day, Truebies!
I didn’t make anything True Blood-related tonight… except for these deformed heart-shaped carrot cakes… which kind of relates… kind of…
In essence, I relaxed today and it was awesome.
I’m just glad True Blood’s back on :) Waiting sucks.
