1/365 Before on Flickr.Via Flickr:
So we begin my Wedding 365 project. Ryan and I are getting married in exactly a year and so I’ve decided to document the days leading up to the wedding… and so I can hopefully/finally complete a 365 project!
Today’s photo is also an homage to the great innovator and genius, Steve Jobs, who had passed away last night. We’re not exactly your typical hardcore Apple fanatics, but we do appreciate all Apple products… and Pixar :)

2/365 Bridesmaids and Wine on Flickr.
Via Flickr: I hung out with Sarah and Jennifer today, two of my bridesmaids. We watched Bridesmaids, drank wine, and pored over my new collection of bridal magazines, and the two of them planned my wedding for me. Who needs a wedding planner when you have friends like Sarah and Jenn?! Haha

3/365 The Boy Who Lived on Flickr.Via Flickr:
So here’s what happened today. I passed up a dance workshop with Hollywood Vibe featuring Melissa Sandvig and Ade Obuyami from So You Think You Can Dance to go to the Virginia State Fair with friends (it was a cheaper option). But then Ryan wasn’t feeling too well and wasn’t up for funnel cake and cows. So I stayed home and took good care of him, saving more money in the process. We watched season 1 of The Walking Dead and a couple episodes of How I Met Your Mother.
Now, see, most guys have wild fantasies of their women dressed up in french maid costumes or naughty nurse outfits. Ryan has always wanted me to read Harry Potter to him. And because he wasn’t feeling well, that’s exactly what I did… Oh, the innocence and silliness of The Sorcerer’s/Philosopher’s Stone.
(Our relationship is based on Harry Potter. We’re fantastical nerds like that. Deal with it.)

4/365 Adults on Flickr.Via Flickr:
Ryan and I had an adult discussion about our future and where we want to be next year (besides married). To celebrate our adult decisions, we went out and got adult milkshakes. Hooray!

Ryan and I have developed a workout schedule. I’m terrible at keeping a solid workout ritual so let’s see how long this goes. Our goal is to look sexy on our wedding day.

7/365 Those Bi-Cultural Weddings… on Flickr.Via Flickr:
Sarah had once asked me if my mother was living vicariously through me since my parents didn’t have a fancy wedding. I said no, but that was a month ago… and I was horribly wrong.
Today my mom called me asked me if I did any more planning since she had last called… which was two nights ago (but she claimed it had been at least a week). Then we had a 2hr long conversation about how to incorporate Chinese traditions into the wedding. She basically planned it all out; from the garb to the decorations to the grub.
And then she said the fateful words: “I will be there to help with anything you need.”
Also, “I’ll probably be staying the night in Richmond a day or two before the wedding.”
Meh, I don’t mind. Just as long as she doesn’t try to take over and become a Mother-of-the-Bride-Zilla, dictating everything. I’ve always wanted to throw in some Chinese customs, and who better to help than my dearest mother?
Oh, and those dolls? They’re bobbleheads! My dad got those for me and Ryan while he was on a business trip in China, because they reminded him of us. Those are our cake toppers.
Just kidding.
I think…

8/365 Awesomeness on Flickr.Via Flickr:
Today, I went with my co-workers to AIGA Richmond’s “Infographic Awesomeness” with Column Five Media. It was awesome. After a presentation of their works, there was a raffle and I won a book! And then, since the event was held in the same building as the Richmond Tumblr office, we decided to snoop around a bit too. But we got as far as the stairs—which were chained off—before we decided we didn’t want to get in trouble. Rebel fail…
Afterwards we all went to Legend for dinner and drinks. My co-worker, Jess and I had this dark, smoked chocolate ale. It was delicious!
And awesome.
Like Barney Stinson.

9/365 Lean Pockets on Flickr.Via Flickr:
I had all these plans to go see Four50Four play at The Republic tonight, but all those plans failed. Many times. I ended up going right as they were finishing up their last song, and left before they even started their second set. But at least I got to see LeAn (pronounces Lee-Ann… or just Lean Pockets) for a little while!
She looks great! I look… well…
How is this relevant to my wedding? Well I had first heard of Four50Four because my old co-worker is the bass player. They played at our old job’s office opening party and Ryan and I really liked them! So my original plan was to watch them play tonight to see how they would sound indoors if we were to have an indoor wedding. Aw yeah, this was potential band scouting!
Too bad I didn’t really hear them play. Fail. Oh well, next time!
