Out of sheer curiosity, and because I couldn’t listen to the radio or go on the internet without hearing about it at least once a day, I read an excerpt from the new “hit” book Fifty Shades of Grey.
I read about a page or two before I rolled my eyes so hard I pulled an optical muscle, and then I wanted to gauge my eyes out. It was so painful… and I think what made the experience ten times worse was that the series started out as a Twilight fan fiction. And Twilight was so badly written, I couldn’t get past chapter 5 of the first book without chucking it clear across the room. Where are all the editors/proofreaders?!
The series has been labeled as “Mommy porn.” I hope that when I’m a mom, I won’t ever have to resort to reading something so repulsive.
I’m just not a fan of romance novels… I’m more of a fantasy and sci-fi gal.
(yes, I realized I’ve had two consecutive posts where I’ve complained about something… I promise I’ll be more pleasant)
